Excellent article from Tom Stienstra over at the SF Chronicle regarding the California State Park Reservation System. With the change in the economy, some of the prime state park locations are filling up in a matter of minutes. Another tip Tom points out, is to look for those city or county parks that are not listed on the state reservation system. I will also plug Tom's book as I consider it a must have for anyone that camps regularly in California.
